For the past 16 months, Food for Now has served free food and essentials outside 2835 Lake Shore Blvd West, Toronto Seniors Housing (Woods Manor)—primarily supporting, seniors who live in the building, new comers, peopleexperiencinghomelessness. Nearly 70% of those we serve are seniors, many with mobility challenges or fixed incomes who rely on this weekly support. After complying with requests to relocate, we are now being asked to leave entirely or face legal action. All we are asking for is the permission to serve one day per week for about 2.5 hours, in a safe space that does not block doors or sidewalks. Please stand with our seniors, the marginalized community and those fighting food insecurity and help keep Food for Now where it is needed most. In the heart of Lakeshore village.
